I set myself the task of learning the butterfly kick this weekend, and although I’ve got the basics (I think) down, it’s is far from perfect. I need to lower my shoulders closer to the ground and need to ‘float’ and land more gracefully. If any one has any tips, I’d love the advice!

it’s a good beginning…
you have to lower your shoulders, and when you are gaining momentum your upper body must design a U. So you have first to let your chest go down to the first leg, then to the second leg and move on that last the weight of your body.
Then it’s important that you kick the FIRST leg higher up !!!

Hey dude, making a great start, for best results try putting 2 steps before the jump and on the 2nd step bring your torso to a horizontal position and rotate it in a circular motion forwards and then lift the first leg then jumping from the spporting leg. This enables the hips to allow a great height in the kick and keeps the rotation going…
